Linen, timber and lighting samples being arranged in a studio

Work

The work begins before the room does.

Every occasion starts with a reason for people to gather. We think about that reason first — then shape the experience, the environment, the movement, the detail and the moment around it.

The discipline

Understand the reason. Design everything around it.

We work across different kinds of occasions. The discipline stays the same. The public collection is intentionally selective. Where client work cannot be published, we show the thinking — through Canvas Perspectives, creative studies and the principles behind the work.

Real work

Selected work will appear here as permissions allow.

Some occasions are private by necessity. We will only publish work where the story, imagery and outcomes can be shared responsibly.

Canvas Perspectives

How we think about the occasion.

A Canvas Perspective is an editorial exploration of how we might approach a particular kind of occasion. It is not a record of a completed client project.

Government & Civic

Public purpose has a form.

Civic gatherings need a form that can hold public purpose without turning the room into theatre.

Corporate & Institutions

Meaning is a design problem.

Organisational occasions need an idea strong enough to survive the invite, the room and the close.

Galas & Fundraising

The night has a temperature.

A gala is choreography — hospitality and the ask sharing one clock, without raising the volume of the room.

Festivals & Public Experiences

The ground is the brief.

Public work is spatial. If only the stage is designed, the rest of the day is improvisation.

Summits & Conferences

Attention is a material.

A conference is not chairs facing a screen. It is the management of attention across a day.

Weddings & Celebrations

The day should not be managed.

Direction should disappear into hospitality, privacy and the particular gravity of a family.

Delegations & International Experiences

A welcome is made of joins.

A hosted visit is a sequence of thresholds. The creative problem is the join — not a tour, not diplomacy.

What we create

The occasion is the work.

Creative direction only matters when it survives contact with the real world.

  1. Think

The brief, the audience, the purpose and the opportunity.

  2. Create

The idea, the story, the environment and the experience.

  3. Produce

Detail, suppliers, schedule, technical reality and the moving parts.

  4. Deliver

The room, the moment, the people and the experience.

  5. Extend

What remains after the occasion — when the brief includes it.

Start with the reason people are gathering. We will read the brief and reply in person.
